Saugatuck Getaway

Greetings everyone,

Welcome to the latest, and long overdue entry.  It has been a crazy year, and we can't believe we have not put anything up in over a year.  We beg your forgiveness.

We decided to celebrate our 16th anniversary a little early this year, and wanted to do a little get away.  So we chose a place we have not been in several years,  Saugatuck, MI.

We decided to go with a Bed and Breakfast, and after way too much research and deliberation we went back to one of the first places we looked at.  We chose The Ivy Inn Bed and Breakfast in the heart of down town.  The Ivy Inn was perfect!  I know I'm going to sound like an advertisement, but it was steps away from everywhere.  Once we parked our car, we didn't need to drive the rest of the time we were there.

View from the side of our balcony, Mount Baldy

A good place to watch our Blackhawks take on the Ducks!  They won that game thank goodness!

One of our favorite places in Saugatuck.  The Red Dock Bar.  Had a great time there.  Red Stripe was cold, and the food was awesome!

One of the best views from Red Dock.

We highly recommend an afternoon cruise on The Star of Saugatuck.  Great way to learn about the town, and enjoy some quiet time on the water.

One of the great signs seen downtown.

A great way to end our trip, some wine and apps on the deck of The Butler

So in closing, we'd like to raise a glass to Saugatuck, MI.  We had a great time in the 51 hours we were there, and cannot wait to get back.  It is only two and half hours from the condo, so a few day trips are planned this summer to enjoy this great beach town.

So until next time, and we hope it isn't 14 months till our next entry --

Keep that Shutter moving!
